Bankgirots hållbarhetsgrupp's latest proposals

  • Tie carbon dioxide into the city's plantations and on roofs

Perhaps this is already done, but it is an idea to choose what to plant in Stockholm's decorative plants based on the type of plants that bind most carbon dioxide. Placing sedum roofs on new buildings also helps to bind carbon dioxide.

  • Easy sorting at the city's bins

The idea is about sorting debris to a greater extent than today at general paper bins. Perhaps the vessels could be divided into several sections with clear markings for what to throw in each section. However, I understand the challenge of getting everyone to throw the right junk in the right section. Maybe using nudging?
If nothing else, a specific container for mortgages so those who are looking for a pledge do not have to mess with the garbage.

  • Less grass mowing in Stockholm

There are many nice lawns in Stockholm. Some of them could be replaced by flower beds to save on the lawn mowers fuel and also contribute to the survival of bees and other insects. One could advantageously place bi- and insect hotels in connection with the meadows.

  • Cooperation city and school - hotel

To create engagement among the young, the city could encourage / sponsor the schools to set up hotel hotels in suitable places in the city, preferably in connection with the school. It could combine benefits with pleasure. Children learn about the benefits of bees and other insects (biology), and about sustainability in a practical way. In addition, it could be a collaboration with the craft if the children were allowed to build their own hotels. To some extent, there is also suitable material to collect in nature (cones, for example).
