Women and burnout - how do we create socially sustainable environments where people feel good?
"More women are on sick leave due to fatigue depression and almost every other young girl at school suffers from stress. Stress and burnout is an equality issue. In the Power Salon's network, we see how stress causes women to refuse leadership positions or quit prematurely. not just one for those affected, but also for the whole of civil society, which is losing important skills and valuable perspectives. " This is what the non-profit organization Maktsalongen writes, which works with gender equality issues in civil society.
Women and burnout-how do we create socially sustainable environments where people feel good?
"More women are being sick-sick by exhaustion depression and up to every other young girl in school suffering from stress. Stress and burnout is a matter of gender equality. In the network of the Power Salon, we see how stress causes women to reject leadership assignments or jump off prematurely. That is a big loss Not only one for those who are affected, but also for the entire civil society who are missing out on important skills and valuable perspectives. ”So, the non-profit organization writes the Power Salon, which works with gender issues in civil society.

Like what the Power Salon sees, the Swedish Social Insurance Agency has through various reports also noticed strong increases in the number of burnt out women in the middle of life, in their 30-40 years. The reasons are many but one of those mentioned is the duplication and the unpaid work that many women do. According to Statistics Sweden, the difference between women's and men's time in unpaid work is reduced mainly because women's unpaid time decreases. In 2010, women spent 3.5 hours on unpaid work a weekday, men 2.5 hours. Women have reduced their time in unpaid work during an everyday day since 1990 by 1 hour, men have increased their time by 8 minutes.
That more and more women are being burned out is a social problem! How can we take responsibility and change this? How can we change norms and attitudes to more evenly distribute work at workplaces and in everyday life for citizens in Stockholm? How can we create socially sustainable environments where people feel good? How can we change the behavior of ourselves around this in order not to be burned out?
Help me and other citizens participate in Developing your city with insights and ideas about this! Follow the ideas that appear here and use them to encourage others to change, because we can start where we stand. Much is about norms and daring to change them.

Value results more than presence
Today valued presence excessively high. Many people need not be in his Office eight hours a day to do its job. Yet so it seems to be a star in the edge if you come early and go late.
What happens if you start redefining working time in work value? The important thing is that it has solved its task not how many hours it took, or where to do so.
sleep Board
Poor sleep is a clear symptom of incipient burnout. Often we are bad at that flag up and see others. We dare not, for various reasons, share with us. One way would be to have a sleep Board at work where you set up how many hours they slept at night.
