How can authorities better capture the public's need for environmental information?

Knowledge of citizens' needs is required for authorities to make environmental information easy to find and easy to understand. Citizens have the right to be able to participate and increase their knowledge so that the opportunity to make smart choices for themselves, and for the environment, is increased.

In order for authorities to be able to make environmental information easy to find and easy to understand, knowledge of citizens' needs is needed. Citizens have the right to participate and increase their knowledge so that the opportunity to make smart choices for themselves, and for the environment, is increased.

Starting from the needs of the public gives authorities the opportunity to develop more efficient processes and services that the public needs to act in an environmentally friendly manner. Authorities get a greater understanding of what the need for environmental information the public has and with the help of that understanding, environmental information can be displayed and visualized better. But if authorities are to listen more to their target groups, in this case the public, and become more "customer-centered", changes in working methods, processes and the like may also be required in order to be able to continuously capture the public's input and needs.

With the help of the ideas put forward on this challenge, municipalities, county administrative boards and authorities can be inspired by your and my contributions to developing new and learning from each other. The challenge is one of many to work with within the framework of the Government's mission to increase the availability of "smarter" environmental information.

Läs mer under "full beskrivning" nedan.

Smarter life-an app for sustainable living

Starting point: Interviews hav that many are doing things that are "miljöbra" but perhaps not mainly therefore, i.e. that it is good for the environment. Man bikes because it's crowded in the city. You travel by bus because you don't want to have a car that's too expensive, etc.

Build on it and collect points from how you behave, but the point is calculated indirectly from positive environmental effects.

An app that collects points from your choices you make in your everyday life. The score has a bearing on the environment but in indirect form via indicators based on how you behave in everyday life.
Data is collected "under the hood" i.e. you do not write them himself, and the score will be calculated through the available environmental information. You get instant updates when you make choices that show be smart for the environment.
You can level up, you compete against your friends.
You can see their own development and if you want to compare with friends, people online, tv, national and international.

Practice on friends and family to get an outside perspective

Of course we all want to explain so that others will understand, but they fall easily into the lingo. For my own part, it happens now and then that I use family and friends-they "read" and they usually give honest feedback. Then I'll tell you about the environmental protection agency's work with smarter environmental information for them, I quickly notice what works and where I lose them; Often it's about fast enough to get to the heart of the matter. I also get a reason to look for explanations and examples that matters from their perspective (work/school/everyday). Even celebrations can be a good "litmus paper" then you often are expected to tell you briefly what you work with-what do you say when you have a minute to arouse anyone's interest if you are passionate about in your professional everyday life?

Compare the environmental impact of your car driving

Many people want to reduce the environmental impact of his car running, but how do I know how I lie? Many want feedback, eg how performing I compared with the neighbor, city residents, other countries ...? We propose to develop an app where you can see in real time the environmental impact of their driving, and where the data is put in relation to other groups. Good with signal if you distinguish you (good or bad) compared to the average, such as a smiley face, a beautiful melody, beep et c. it might also be able to compete with near and dear ones, for example, you can compete with your wife in a month. The app can also provide tips that relate to your driving, often linked to how you save money in your driving (gruppidé from worksohp during the kickoff Digital first-Smarter environmental information, from Magnus, Anders, Gustaf, Matts, Kristin and Asa).
