"Nudging" for environmentally conscious consumption!

How can the public sector create nudging, that is, push and help lead the way in a certain direction, so that you and others consume in an environmentally conscious way?

"Nudging" is a way to help people make smart environmental choices by, for example, making an environmentally sustainable choice for what is 'pre-selection' and then showing the way. It can be as simple as double-sided copying being set as the default for copying, to reduce paper usage or to guide you to environmentally friendly food choices in the restaurant. With the help of the ideas put forward on this challenge, municipalities, county administrative boards and authorities can be inspired by your and my contributions to developing new and learning from each other. The challenge is one of many to work with within the framework of the Government's mission to create and make available "smarter" environmental information.

Läs mer under "full beskrivning" nedan.

Loan-cultivation

I think one of the several reasons for today's food waste is that we forget how much effort and resources invested in what we eat. We are many who like to cultivate, but it can be troublesome to fix to a hemmaodling country, dug, seeds must be bought, Earth must be transported, it requires space to store things over the winter, etc. By facilitating hemmaodling in small scale (e.g. on a balcony) can more be reminded in their daily lives on the process behind to get food, while you get to do something fun and creative. I request some kind of package deal á la leasing, where you get hemkört a practical cultivation box, a few sacks of Earth, some seeds etc., when you get tired to order retrieval, and then get back a pledge. The cost can be kept down through the reuse of cultivation box mm. Would be nice if someone would like to help to develop this idea!

Collaborative lists

Nudging is about suggestion. Some ideas, however, are hard to implement because it takes a minimum of X participants to be financially viable. Using Facebook groups is a great start but it ends up being a lot of comments that are hard to manage.
The suggestion is to use a collaborative list management platform called pool.farm and described here : "https://cartoon.pool.farm".
Here's how it works : a "pool admin" starts a list (a "pool") and invites others to join. The platform helps manage the collaborative list.
Businesses can also upload a catalogue on pool.farm, which is really cool because it makes it easy for their customers to start pooling.
Currently in functional BETA phase. Expected launch in June.

Local green tax change!

For example, before a local tax increase on gasoline (line with fossil-free Stockholm 2030) and use the money to subsidize organic food or lower the price of public transport tickets.

Engage young through an app!

We believe that it is important to get young people above all to become involved in the issue, as we are the future. Therefore, it is important for the public sector to invest in making young people more aware of the environmental issue, where our proposal is to create an "environmental footprint app". Our generation uses the mobile very much and through this app you could see its impact on the environment such as carbon dioxide emissions or water supply based on the choices you make in everyday life. It should be clear to see which concrete effect it has for the environment, eg eating vegetarian one day a week. It is very important that the app is clear and smooth and that you can clearly follow its progression. To further get young people interested, we think it is good that the app can collect points and compete against others (friends or unknown) to further motivate!

In order to get young people to find the app, the public sector should inform in schools and use the platforms where young people hang, eg instagram and Facebook. Getting famous people or role models that can promote the app would make young people interested!

Inbyggd källsortering i varje hem
