Safer walking and cycling on Kungsträdgårdsgatan

I cycle almost every day on Kungsträdgårdsgatan on the way to work. In warmer seasons, it is crowded with bicycles, pedestrians and buses. Accidents and incidents occur, especially at the pedestrian crossing at the metro exit. As the buses are crowded, this route is not at all safe to cycle on. I would like to invite you to come up with suggestions / ideas on how this street can be safer for everyone. I also know that the city plans to do something about this part, so here is the opportunity to provide input on how it can be done better. Would be extra exciting if the proposals are developed on each other's ideas. Then see you all at the Openin meetup.

Safer walking and cycling on kungsträdgårdsgatan

I ride almost every day on Kungsträdgårdsgatan on the way to work. Warmer season is crowded with bicycles, pedestrians and buses. Accidents and incidents occur and then mainly at the pedestrian crossing at the subway fall. As it is crowded with the buses, this distance is not at all safe to ride on.

Have a happy way to work

One problem is that so many come together in one place. Especially in Stockholm, where there are "WaSP waist" everywhere. < br/> < br/> There is a project which has identified happy roads with sights etc. It takes a few minutes longer but you get an experience in the bargain. What happens if the city would begin showcasing these happy roads. Go past the National Museum, for example, and enjoy the view of nybroviken. < br/> < br/> https://www.ted.com/talks/daniele_quercia_happy_maps

Mini-Islands mean that pedestrians do not go out on bike path

Right on the zebra crossing you describe will both bicycles and pedestrians from the intersecting walking/bike path. Time road users usually goes straight into the bike paths right there. Even though gatustenarna clearly mark cycle tracks so it is not enough. < br/> < br/> Small minirefuger that physically select bike parties might be able to help in all cases there. When something physically in the way we tend to not even unwittingly stepping out in cycle paths./Susanne < br/>

Separate bike paths completely off the road! /Alternativt building on the way to the park!

Separate bike paths completely off the road! Track bike paths built into the Park instead and was physically clear separated both from road traffic and away from walkways in the Park. = more enjoyable and safer.

Alternatively the construction of the road to park! The area feels inevitable that there should be a way there at all. Traffic could be led and the park be expanded-where two clearly marked (not just on the ground but also with small fence/refug) bike lanes for directions, see.

Various for bikes

One problem may be that many bikes too fast. A solution may be to reduce the tempo mainly on cyclists by setting up various. < br/> < br/>

Traffic mirrors

Set up traffic mirrors so bikes and pedestrians seeing each other and bus/automotive traffic better.
